The Ghana Black Satellites have officially announced the a 20-man squad for the 2026 WAFU B U-20 Championship to be hosted in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with the regional competition set to kick off on Sunday, July 26.

The Satellites have already touched down safely in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, as they fine-tune preparations for the 2026 tournament.

The Ghana U-20 national side will open their WAFU B U-20 Championship against their West African rivals Nigeria on Monday in a Group B encounter.

One of the most anticipated fixtures between the two sides, due tot their regional location will be played at the Lycée Scientifique Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00 GMT (2pm local time).

Head coach Maxwell Konadu will be laeading in the dugout for the tournament in a competitive Group B, alongside Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Togo, in what promises to be one of the standout groups of the tournament.

The West African giants will then return to action on Thursday, July 30, when they take on Burkina Faso at 18:00 GMT (6pm local time), before concluding their group campaign against Togo on Sunday, August 2, at the Stade CKB, with kick-off again set for 14:00 GMT.

Hosts Côte d’Ivoire, will feature in Group A, alongside, Benin, and Niger, with all three nations set to battle for the remaining qualification places.

The WAFU B U-20 Championship will unite the seven member associations of the West African Football Union Zone B in a celebration of the region’s brightest emerging talent.

While the battle for regional supremacy promises to captivate, the stakes extend far beyond the trophy, with the tournament also serving as the qualification pathway to the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, a competition Ghana will proudly stage on home soil.
