Eight teams are set battle for a place in Zone 2 of the Division One League

The Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional tournament is set to commence on May 2, 2025, at the iconic Baba Yara Stadium.

Eight teams that emerged victorious in their respective zones will battle it out for the coveted spot in the national first division.

The zonal qualifiers concluded last week, with the winners from each zone securing a place in the promotional tournament.

The winner of this tournament will earn promotion to the national first division, where they will compete in Zone 2.

Previous winners, including Asekem, PAC Academy, and Galaxy FC, have set the bar high for the upcoming teams.

Benab FC, who dominated Zone 7 with 50 points from 18 matches, will be looking to continue their impressive form. They have extended their unbeaten run in the zonals to 53 matches, winning 16 and drawing 2.

Saasaamo Panin, Ebony, and Pro Sports also earned their spots in the tournament after winning their respective zones.

The draw held on Thursday revealed an exciting group stage lineup. Group A features Mid City, Sasamo Panin FC, Ebony FC, and Pro Sports, with Mid City looking to bounce back after a finalist appearance last year.

Group B promises to be just as thrilling, with a rematch between Benab FC and JohnBoe FC, who qualified from Zone 8. Benab FC finished on top of the zone, and they will face Accelera8z and Adom FC in the group stage.

The tournament will kick off on May 2 and conclude on May 9. Four games will be played each day, with a day’s rest in between matches. The group stage fixtures are as follows:

1. Mid City

2. Sasamo Panin FC

3. Ebony FC

4. Pro Sports

Group B

1. Adom FC

2. Accelera8z

3. Benab FC

4. Jonnboe FC

The teams will face off in a bid to secure the top spot and earn promotion to the national first division.
