Despite the odds, Kraft is optimistic about his team’s chances, buoyed by their morale-boosting victory over Basake Holy Stars last Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“We won against Basake and this should give us confidence for our game against Kotoko which will be a hard encounter for us,” he said in an interview with Accra Lions Media.

Accra Lions currently sit 16th on the table and desperately need a win to enhance their survival chances. Kraft acknowledged the importance of the match for both teams, saying, “Asante Kotoko needs to win to remain on their spot, top of the table. We need a win to remain in our position and try to avoid relegation, so this will be a tough encounter.”

Kraft, who returned to Ghana to take over as coach at the beginning of the year, replacing Ibrahim Tanko, knows that his team will face an uphill task against the league leaders. “Of course, Kotoko is a big big favourite in this game,” he admitted.

The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams eager to get the maximum points.
