Anthony Elanga set to undergo Newcastle medical

Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign Anthony Elanga for £55 million, with the player’s medical scheduled for this week, according to Sky Sports.
Elanga is thrilled at the prospect of joining Newcastle United and is fully committed to the opportunity of competing in the UEFA Champions League under manager Eddie Howe.
The 23-year-old delivered an impressive performance at Nottingham Forest last season and is now poised to enhance Newcastle’s attacking lineup as the club gears up for their return to the Champions League, having secured fifth place in the Premier League last season.

Elanga joined Forest from Manchester United for £15 million in July 2023, signing a five-year deal, going on to make 82 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.
On Monday, renowned Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced on his X account that an agreement involving all parties had been reached.

The Swede’s standout performances have drawn the interest of the Magpies, whose only signing this summer has been 18-year-old Spanish winger Antonio Cordero, who joined on a free transfer from Málaga, as reported by BBC sport.

Elanga joined Manchester United as a 12-year-old. He made 55 appearances for the club before moving to Forest, where he excelled under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
His ability to create scoring opportunities makes him a valuable addition for the newly crowned Carabao Cup champions, who plan to overhaul their attack after Cullum Wilson’s official announcement of leaving the club on Monday.
According to Fabrizio, the winger is scheduled for a medical this week:
“Newcastle have already booked medical tests for Anthony Elanga.
“It’s all done and agreed as exclusively revealed last night.”
