Securing a top-class striker is seen as vital to solving Arsenal’s lack of firepower up front
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta promises summer spending spree

Mikel Arteta has vowed to oversee a major summer rebuild at Arsenal after acknowledging his squad was “super short” throughout the season.
Arteta had initially opted for a smaller group, favouring a tight-knit unit to foster togetherness and harmony in the dressing room.
However, that strategy appears to have backfired, with injuries and suspensions derailing Arsenal’s campaign and leaving them trailing behind Premier League champions Liverpool.

Determined to strengthen ahead of next season, Arteta is targeting both quality and depth.
A new centre forward tops the club’s wishlist, with the Spaniard a known admirer of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
Meanwhile, newly appointed sporting director Andrea Berta is pushing for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko remains a long-term target.

The Gunners are also preparing a £51million bid for Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi and are eyeing a left winger, with Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams among the names under consideration.
Despite expected departures – Leandro Trossard is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia – Arsenal’s hierarchy is prepared to back Arteta in the market.
However, the manager insists the club will remain disciplined in their approach.
Arteta said: “We will do everything that we can to improve the team and especially improve the players that we already have and whatever the market offers to give us a better chance to win for sure we will try to do it.
“But I think we have to do it our way, and we have to be authentic with ourselves and what we believe and what we can do as well and what we’ve been doing. That’s it.”
