Asante Kotoko aim to extend unbeaten run against Accra Lions

Asante Kotoko travel to the Accra Sports Stadium to face struggling Accra Lions on Wednesday in a crucial Premier League match.

Accra Lions are looking to build on their recent form, having registered their sixth victory in their last match against Basake Holy Stars.

Accra Lions remain in the drop zone (16th) with 26 points from 26 league matches, having scored 20 and conceded 28 goals.

However, they have been unbeaten in their last four home league matches and will look to extend this run against Asante Kotoko.

Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, are on a nine-game unbeaten run (W5, D4) after drawing 1-1 with Bechem United last Sunday.

The Porcupine Warriors are currently top of the league table with 47 points, having scored 28 and conceded 16 goals. They head into this match as the third-best away performers and will aim to pick up all three points.

Accra Lions coach Reiner Kraft expects a tough encounter, saying, “Asante Kotoko needs to win to remain on their spot, top of the table. We need a win to remain in our position and try to avoid relegation, so this will be a tough encounter.”
