The 21-year-old player comes from FC Samartex, having previously played for Real Tamale United. In just two seasons in the Ghana Premier League, he has made over 60 appearances, showcasing impressive consistency and maturity for his age.
A statement on the club’s website described Adabo as:
“A tough, intelligent midfielder who shields the back line with excellent positional discipline. He reads the game well, tackles cleanly, recycles possession quickly, and keeps the midfield composed. His timing, awareness, and ability to win second balls are qualities that strengthen the spine of any team.”
Speaking to Kotoko Media, Adabo said:
“There were a few offers, including some from abroad. But playing for Asante Kotoko puts me in the best position to grow and earn a call-up to the Black Stars. This is a big step for me, and I’m confident it’s the right move for my career.”
His signing brings the club’s tally of new arrivals in this window to eight.
The following players have also joined the Porcupine Warriors: Johnson Oppong, Francis Acquah, Aziz Dari, Joseph Amoah, Zakariah Fusseni, Hubert Gyau, and Seth Kwadwo.
Head Coach Karim Zito, who recently led the club to an FA Cup triumph, is determined to build on that success by mounting a strong challenge in the Ghana Premier League and making a significant impact in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The team is scheduled to depart Ghana for South Africa next week to participate in the Kaizer Chiefs Cup.
