He continues to stay optimistic that “hopefully he will play”, while backing him to recover on time to play a part in Villa’s two fixtures left in the Premier League

Despite earlier fears that he might be out for the rest of the season, the Spaniard has revealed a fresh update that the England international could play a couple of games before the season ends.

He told reporters on Friday: “For tomorrow, he’s not available.

“He’s working on his comeback as soon as possible, but there’s still weeks to be available or not with us for the rest of the season.

“Of course, there’s four weeks and hopefully he will play with us one or two matches.”

Rashford, who has reportedly flown to the Middle East for a rehabilitation programme, faces an uncertain period with regards to his future with the Red Devils.

It is yet to be known whether Villa will exercise their £40m buy option, or if he will head to pastures new.
