Atalanta sensation Ibrahim Sulemana joins Bologna on loan

Sulemana will be hoping to get enough playing time at Bologna

Bologna FC 1909 have officially confirmed the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana on loan from Atalanta BC, completed on transfer deadline day.

The deal runs until June 30, 2026, and includes an option for a permanent move.

A statement on the club’s website stated,

Born in 2003, the right-footed midfielder has already been representing the Ghana national team for over a year.

Renowned for his ball-winning ability and tireless work rate, Sulemana can operate both as a defensive midfielder and as a box-to-box engine. He is also known for his long-range shooting, dynamism, and physical strength.

Sulemana began his Italian adventure with Hellas Verona’s Primavera side in the 2021/22 season. After gaining Serie A experience the following year, he joined Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari in 2023.

He later moved to Atalanta, where he featured in ten matches last season and scored two crucial goals against Roma and Genoa.

Now, the 21-year-old is set for a new chapter in the famous Rossoblù shirt, as Bologna continue to strengthen their squad with young talent.

After sealing the move, Sulemana is set to join the Ghana national team camp in Accra ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

The 21-year-old midfielder is expected to make his Bologna debut after the international break, as the Rossoblu resume their Serie A campaign.
