Marcus Rashford is expected to wear the No. 14 jersey after being confirmed as a Barcelona player on a season-long loan
Barcelona confirm Marcus Rashford signing from Man United

Barcelona have officially announced the season-long loan signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, with an option to buy for £30.3 million in 2026, as per reports.
The 27-year-old forward has realized his long-standing wish to join the Spanish champions, a desire he expressed as far back as January.
Rashford is expected to wear the No. 14 Jersey, eventually getting his wish that was delayed by Ansu Fati’s refusal to leave the Spanish giants earlier on.

Six months later, after missing out on priority targets Luis Diaz and Nico Williams, Barcelona and Monaco have secured Ansu Fati and Marcus Rashford, respectively, with Rashford joining the Blaugrana on an initial loan from United.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the English international accepted a significant pay cut to facilitate the move, with Barcelona covering all his wages.
However, they are currently unable to register the forward due to LaLiga’s financial rules, which force the club to sell before they can make room for additions.

The Spanish champions are deemed to have spent more on signings and wages than they made in revenue for the 2024/25 season.
LaLiga’s financial regulations limit clubs to spending within their generated revenue, requiring Barcelona to offload players, reduce wages, or boost income streams to accommodate new signings.
The deadline to resolve this matter is the end of August, and Barcelona are optimistic about registering Rashford and their other new signings in time for the upcoming season.

It has been evident since December that the academy graduate has no future at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim, making his move to one of Europe’s elite clubs a welcome development.

A Barcelona statement said: “FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Marcus Rashford until 30 June 2026. The agreement also establishes an option to buy the English forward.
“The player has signed his contract as a Barça player this afternoon at a private meeting in the presence of the FC Barcelona president, Joan Laporta; the director of the Football Area, and other Board members.”
On any given day, it’s clear that Barcelona have acquired a highly talented forward. His versatility has proven appealing to head coach Hansi Flick, who sought additional cover for Raphinha on the left and Robert Lewandowski up top.
Rashford has expressed his readiness to lead the line for Barcelona, confidently stating his comfort as a centre-forward. With Pau Víctor heading to Braga, Rashford is set to become Robert Lewandowski’s new deputy when the need arises.
