Barcelona sporting director Deco has dismissed the possibility of Neymar making a return to the club this summer.
Neymar, who left Barcelona in 2017 to join Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee, has been linked with a move back to Spain as the Brazilian forward looks to return to Europe ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The 33-year-old spent six years in Paris before moving to Saudi Arabia, where his time was plagued by injury.
He struggled with an ACL injury, which saw him spend much of his time on the sidelines.
In January 2025, Neymar mutually terminated his contract with Al-Hilal and returned to his homeland, signing for his boyhood club, Santos.
Despite rumours linking the Brazilian star with a return to Barcelona, SPORT reports that Deco has firmly ruled out the prospect of Neymar rejoining the club this summer.
The Main Reason Why Barcelona Will Not Sign Neymar This Summer
Former Portugal international Deco is said to have cited Neymar’s recent decline in form as a key reason for the decision.

Additionally, Barca are reportedly concerned about the influence Neymar could have in the dressing room, fearing it could negatively impact the development of several promising young players.
Neymar enjoyed significant success during his first stint at Camp Nou, scoring 105 goals and providing 76 assists in 186 appearances across all competitions.
He helped the club win two La Liga titles and lift the Champions League trophy.
