Partey is expected to run down his contract and leave Arsenal on a free transfer this summer
Barcelona weighing up Thomas Partey move this summer

Barcelona are considering a move for Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, but only under specific conditions.
The La Liga giants believe a deal for the Ghanaian would only make sense if one of their key midfielders is sold – or if Partey is willing to play at right-back.
Partey is expected to run down his contract and leave Arsenal on a free transfer this summer.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona sit at the top of his list of preferred destinations.

However, the Catalan club will not proceed with the move unless circumstances change within their squad.
Currently, Barca are content with their midfield depth and do not view Partey as a priority signing. That stance has evolved over the course of the season.
Frenkie de Jong, previously linked with a summer exit, has cemented his place in Hansi Flick’s starting XI and is now reportedly close to signing a contract extension.

In addition, Barca remain confident in their emerging midfield talents, Marc Casado and Marc Bernal – the latter expected to be fit ahead of next season – as capable options in the holding midfield role.
The only scenarios that could push Barca to sign Partey are if De Jong makes an unexpected departure or if Partey agrees to be deployed as a right-back.

Barca are actively seeking to reinforce that position, and Partey has experience there, having filled in for Takehiro Tomiyasu at Arsenal this season.
Partey has started 36 of Arsenal’s 43 matches this season and is expected to feature again on Tuesday when the Gunners host reigning champions Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
