Bayern and Leroy Sane reach agreement over new deal

Leroy Sane for Bayern

Bayern Munich and Leroy Sane have reportedly reached an agreement over a new deal to extend the winger’s contract beyond the current season.

Sane’s contract was due to expire in July, but reports from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl have now revealed that an agreement has been reached between the two parties.

Same reports were confirmed by the Bayern account on X(Twitter) to even solidify the claim.

The deal is expected to be finalised next week, with the 29-year-old putting pen to paper on a 3-year contract until 2028.

Speculation had emerged that the Germany international was willing to take a pay cut to stay in Bavaria — and it looks like he did just that if the report is true.

Sané is said to be pocketing €15m on his current deal, which includes a €5m bonus structure.

However, the new deal would see him collect €10 million, plus €5 million in what are believed to be potential bonuses.

Before the said agreement, TZ Muenchen had revealed that the German international had been offered a huge contract from Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad. They were said to be willing to pay him a massive salary.

Sane, who is in the final few months of his contract at Allianz Arena, had attracted interest from Arsenal, who are looking to bolster their attack with fresh faces this summer.

The Gunners held a fresh round of talks with the player’s representatives, but the player was likely to remain with the Bavarian club.

Sane’s new contract extension will come as a big boost for Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, who is on course to win the Bundesliga in his first attempt, with the player starring in a major role.
