Bayern have secured the Germany international on a four-year deal
Bayern Munich confirm signing of Jonathan Tah

Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Jonathan Tah on a free transfer following his departure from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 29-year-old has been a key figure in Bayer Leverkusen’s rise under coach Xabi Alonso, but he decided to leave Die Werkself after his contract expired this summer.

Tah had been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona earlier in the transfer window, but the Catalan club ended their pursuit after renewing Ronald Araujo’s contract.

Bayern emerged as the frontrunners and have now secured the Germany international on a four-year deal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2029.
Speaking to club media, Tah said: “I want to take on responsibility here and work hard every day so that we’re successful as a team and win lots of trophies together.”

The German centre-back will wear the No. 4 jersey at Bayern Munich and is expected to be available for Kompany’s side at the Club World Cup in the United States this June.

Tah’s arrival could potentially see Kim Min-jae pushed to the bench.
Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan Tah to FC Bayern.

“As an experienced international and leader, he brings the consistency and quality that will strengthen our defence. He’s a real gain for us – and he’s also proven that he can win titles.”
A youth product of Hamburger SV, Tah progressed through the academy and featured for the senior team before moving to Bayer Leverkusen in 2015. During his time at Leverkusen, he made 402 appearances.
Since his first call-up to the German national team in 2016, Tah has earned 35 caps for the Mannschaft.
