Bayern Munich have considered recalling young forward Mathys Tel from Tottenham Hotspur loan for the FIFA Club World competition in June.

Mathys Tel completed a surprise transfer deadline-line loan move to Tottenham Hotspur in January after the player initially rejected a move to Chelsea in the January window.

After he initially rejected Tottenham’s permanent transfer offer, Bayern and the player later settled on a loan move that had a purchase option set at €55m (£45.7m).

Reports from Kicker indicate that Tel could be on his way back to Munich in the summer as the Bavarian club is considering calling back all the players who are out on loan ahead of the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup in the US.

The 19-year-old’s contract with the London side expires on June 30, but FIFA has opened up a new transfer window between June 1 and June 10.

This gives the Bundes Liga leaders enough time to terminate the existing agreement with the English team and bring back the Frenchman.

The French star’s move to the North London side has not gone as expected, He has appeared in seven matches across all competitions, with one goal scored.

Vincent Kompany’s side aims to win both the Bundesliga and the Champions League titles in the 2024-25 campaign.

They will be next in action today as they host FC St. Pauli in a league clash.
