The Black Princesses booked their place in the next stage of the U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after defeating Tunisia 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Princesses started strongly, creating early pressure on the visitors. Attobrah, who scored a brace in the first leg, came close to opening the scoring but sent her effort wide.

Ghana eventually broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark when Attobrah rose highest to head home a fine cross. Ivy Osei Owusu nearly doubled the lead with a brilliant solo run, but her shot missed the target.

The hosts went into the break 1-0 up. Moments after the restart, substitute Agnes Owusu made an immediate impact, scoring with her first touch to double Ghana’s advantage.

Despite dominating possession and creating more openings, the Princesses could not add to their tally.

The two goal cushion proved enough as Ghana comfortably saw out the game to complete a 4-0 aggregate win over Tunisia.

The Black Princesses will now wait to discover their next opponents in the qualifiers.
