Black Stars arrive in Morocco for 2026 World Cup qualifier against Madagascar

The Black Stars landed at Acharif Alidrissi Airport in Al Hoceima at 16:16 GMT

The Black Stars have touched down in Morocco ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup Group I qualifier against Madagascar.

Ghana’s contingent left Accra on Saturday at 10:30am and landed at Acharif Alidrissi Airport in Al Hoceima at 16:16 GMT.

All 23 players travelled to Morocco in good condition ahead of the crucial Group I match, set to take place on Monday, March 24, 2025.

Ghana recently secured a commanding victory over Chad on Friday, which saw them climb to the top of the table. The team will aim to solidify their position at the top with a win over Madagascar.

The delegation is led by the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Dr. Randy Abbey, and Vice Chairman Stephen Appiah. Also travelling with the team is former captain and Ghanaian legend, Asamoah Gyan.

The squad includes: Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, Joseph Wollacott, Gideon Mensah, Ebenezer Annan, Kingsley Schindler, Kamaradini Mamudu, Alexander Djiku, Mohammed Salisu, Razak Simpson, Jonas Adjetey, Jerome Opoku, Thomas Partey, Lawrence Agyekum, Abu Francis, Mohammed Kudus, Ernest Nuamah, Jordan Ayew, Inaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, Jerry Afriyie, Kamal Deen Sulemana, Christopher Bonsu Baah.

The game is scheduled for a 19:00 hrs kick-off at the Stade Mimoun Al Arsi in Al Hoceima, Morocco. A victory against Madagascar on Monday would further strengthen their position and move them closer to securing a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
