Antoine Semenyo has a £65 million release clause in his new contract, signed with Bournemouth in the summer
Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo picks Man City over Man United

Antoine Semenyo is currently the Premier League’s most in-demand attacker, with both Manchester clubs battling for his signature. Yet Manchester City have surged ahead of rivals United by holding direct talks with the Bournemouth star last week.
The Bournemouth winger, according to talkSPORT, has City interested in triggering the Ghana international’s reported release clause of £65 million in January.
Now, per the reports from renowned journalist David Ornstein, Antoine Semenyo has chosen Manchester City as his preferred January destination.

talkSPORT reporters Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook had reported on Tuesday that Chelsea are the latest club to have enquired about Semenyo’s situation, despite previously insisting that they would not enter the race for the winger.
Chelsea joined the race to sign the 25-year-old forward, who had a decision to make on his next move. Semenyo was set to make good use of his day off on Monday to decide on his next destination, before Chelsea’s reported interest emerged.
However, on Tuesday evening, Ornstein of The Athletic had revealed that the Stamford Bridge club had decided against making a concrete move, leaving Man Utd and Man City as Semenyo’s main options.

Ornstein further notes that the Ghana international favours a move to the Cityzens over the Red Devils. That, notwithstanding, there are no guarantees as long as the window is not open, but his clear preference as things stand is a move to the Etihad.
This marks the second time this year Semenyo is set to reject an approach from United—having already snubbed strong summer interest from Old Trafford, leaving the club disappointed once again.

Ornstein has also dismissed the suggestions that United intended to convert Semenyo into a left wing-back in Ruben Amorim’s system. Semenyo’s decision is down to his desire to win trophies.
He feels that by joining City, he will have a better chance of securing silverware than if he were to join Amorim’s inconsistent Red Devils.
