It looks all but set for Carlo Ancelotti to take up the vacant Brazil national team job

Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil have reached an “agreement in principle,” as he agrees to take charge of the Brazil national team from June, as revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Ancelotti has reportedly sealed the Brazil deal, as the Real Madrid boss agrees to join Selecao in June and take charge of the team’s World Cup 2026 campaign.

Speculations surrounding Ancelotti’s future have consistently stayed under the microscope throughout the season, with every single day that passes by, brewing with news linking the Italian away from the Bernabeu.

Per Fabrizio Romano, Ancelotti has reached an agreement in principle with the Brazilian Football Confederation to become manager of the Brazil national team in June.

He is expected to be in charge of the Selecao as they hope to win their sixth World Cup title, which will be hosted in North America, Mexico, and Canada in 2026.

He is expected to start work with the five-time world champions from June 2025 and not after the Club World Cup maiden edition.

The CBF will be expecting their new head coach to be on the sidelines for Brazil’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Ecuador and Paraguay on June 6 and 10, respectively.

Romano also reports that Ancelotti is expected to be in the dugout for Selecao on the first week of June.

That means, Ancelotti won’t be managing Real Madrid in the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup hosted in the US.

It is also revealed that the CBF was working hard behind the scenes to appoint Dorival Junior’s successor before the June international break.

At this point, the announcement will come as no surprise after Ancelotti’s constant link to the Brazil job for almost a year – the much-anticipated marriage between the Italian and the Brazilian national team will eventually see the light of day.
