Chelsea ‘closely’ monitoring development of Brighton star

Chelsea are expected to be busy during the summer transfer window

Chelsea are looking to further strengthen their attacking options this summer and have identified a promising Brighton forward as a potential target.

Under Enzo Maresca, the Blues have struggled to find consistency in front of goal, and an injury to Nicolas Jackson has underscored their need for additional depth at striker.

Chelsea have started compiling a shortlist of potential candidates for the number nine role, with a current Premier League attacker now added to that list.

As always, Chelsea are expected to be busy during the summer transfer window. However, their immediate focus will be on securing Champions League qualification this season.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea have added Brighton & Hove Albion striker Georginio Rutter to their transfer shortlist ahead of the upcoming window.

The Blues are reportedly keeping a close eye on the French forward, who has contributed 12 goals and assists this season.

Rutter has scored eight goals and provided four assists in what has been a solid debut campaign for the Seagulls following his £40million move from Leeds United.

Rutter is versatile, capable of playing as a striker, attacking midfielder, or even on the right wing, making him an attractive option for Maresca’s side.

Chelsea are also rumoured to be considering a second attempt at signing Victor Osimhen, having tried to bring the Nigerian forward to Stamford Bridge last summer but falling short.

Additionally, Benjamin Sesko remains a target, with the West London club reportedly scouting him during his current campaign at RB Leipzig.

In another potential move, Chelsea could offer Jadon Sancho in exchange for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, with Borussia Dortmund reportedly eager to bring Sancho back to the Bundesliga this summer.
