Malo Gusto set to sign a nnew deal with Chelsea

Chelsea are keen on securing a new deal for French defender Malo Gusto, according to a report from French publication RMC Sport.

The 22-year-old continues to develop at Chelsea and is seen as an important first-team figure for the West London Club, who are still trying to find their identity under manager Enzo Maresca.

The club hierarchy are hoping to secure a long-term deal for the right-back, with rumours of top European clubs, such as Juventus, monitoring his situation at Stamford Bridge.

Contrary to reports suggesting Chelsea are open to selling Malo Gusto for €50 million amid Juventus interest, French outlet RMC Sport claims otherwise.

The Blues, under its current ownership, has adopted the policy of acquiring the services of the best young talent around the world, and Gusto is seen as an integral part of what they are looking to build for the future.

The Premier League club are keen to keep the Gusto, and it comes as no surprise that they are reportedly on the verge of tying him down on a new long-term deal beyond his current deal, which is set to expire in 2030. The new deal could also come with a pay rise for the defender.

Malo Gusto set to renew chelsea contract

Gusto has no reason to leave Chelsea, and it is fair to assume that he will eventually put pen to paper on a new deal for the Club World Cup champions.

The reigning continental champions have performed strongly in recent months, clinching the UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

With an ambitious project and a talented squad, Gusto could further develop under quality guidance and experience.

The versatile defender would thrive within their ambitious project and trophy-winning setup. There’s little incentive for him to leave, and the outcome of the situation remains one to watch.

Maresca’s side needs to keep improving the squad in order to fight for major trophies, having already spent millions on squad rebuilding. However, they will need to prioritise the future of their key players as well.

They must look to keep their best players at the club if they want to compete with the top clubs. It will be interesting to see if they can secure an agreement with the defender in the coming weeks.
