Chelsea offer below AC Milan’s asking price for goalkeeper Mike Maignan

Chelsea are in talks to sign AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan but are unwilling to pay his asking price, according to Fabrizio Romano.
AC Milan want around €30million for the France international, however, the Blues value Maignan at €10million.

Romano posted on X: “Chelsea and AC Milan are not close on valuation for Mike Maignan.
“AC Milan want around €30m; Chelsea won’t pay that as #CFC value Maignan at €10m being out of contract in 2026.
“Chelsea won’t wait longer than Monday as they’re also happy with 4 goalkeepers in their squad.”

Maignan, who has been linked with an exit in recent months, is high on the Blues’ shortlist this summer as Enzo Maresca looks to bring in a new shot-stopper following Robert Sanchez’s inconsistent performances last season.
The 27-year-old made the most errors leading directly to a goal in the Premier League last campaign.
Chelsea were reportedly not in the market for a goalkeeper as they assess their current options of Filip Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Sanchez, and Mike Penders, who will join the club from Genk.
However, the Europa Conference League winners are keen to sign Maignan, having kept tabs on the France No.1 goalkeeper since his time at Lille.
Maignan racked up 53 appearances across all competitions last season for AC Milan, who finished eighth in Serie A and failed to qualify for any European competition.
The Frenchman has just one year remaining on his current Milan contract. The Rossoneri are under no pressure to sell Mike Maignan, but a summer departure is likely.
