Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson set to join Bayern Munich on loan

Bayern Munich have agreed to cover the entire weekly wages of Nicolas Jackson’s loan

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson is expected to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on loan this summer after both clubs reportedly agreed on the transfer terms, according to Sky Sports Germany.

Chelsea appears to have relaxed their earlier position on sanctioning a permanent transfer for the 24-year-old striker – and the club is now open to a loan move with an obligation to buy, with Bayern expected to pay a substantial £10 million loan fee.

The Chelsea striker reportedly agreed personal terms with German giants over a potential switch to the Bundesliga this summer on Tuesday, in a move to secure more playing time.

Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, has been deeply engaged in advancing negotiations, eager to bolster the squad’s attacking depth as they pursue silverware across multiple fronts once again.

They have agreed to cover the entire wages of Jackson, which has convinced the Blues to advance with negotiations.

However, with Harry Kane firmly established as their primary striker, Jackson would need to secure a role either as a backup or through rotational appearances across all competitions for the Bavarians.

The Senegalese striker demonstrated significant potential after his transfer from Villarreal two seasons ago, netting 30 goals and delivering 12 assists in 80 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea.

However, he has found himself below the pecking order since the summer arrival of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.

Both new signings have been swiftly integrated into the Premier League starting XI, while Jackson has been completely excluded from the matchday squads for the opening two fixtures.

Further complicating matters for Jackson is Chelsea’s active transfer market activities. The Blues are deeply engaged in negotiations with Manchester United for young winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has already finalized personal terms with Chelsea and is set to seal a deal at Stamford Bridge.

Concurrently, Chelsea are in talks with RB Leipzig regarding Xavi Simons, a move that could be linked to potential deals involving out-of-favour forward Christopher Nkunku.

The Bundesliga club is considering whether Nkunku’s return to Germany might facilitate Simons’ transfer in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, according to The Athletic, Chelsea have agreed to sell Nkunku to AC Milan and are resolute in offloading Jackson, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, and Raheem Sterling, with Tyrique George also expected to leave the club.
