Desmond Ofei finally names Ghana squad for CAF U-20 Championship

Ghana’s National Men’s Under-20 Football team, the Black Satellites, are primed and ready to take on the best of Africa in the 2025 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Coach Desmond Ofei has assembled a formidable squad comprising talented young players from both local and international clubs, with one goal in mind: to make a lasting impact on the tournament.

The Black Satellites have settled into their training camp at the Green House Hotel in Suez, a city famous for the iconic Suez Canal.
After intense preparations, the team is focused on their opening Group C match against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) at the Suez Stadium on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 9 pm local time (1800 GMT).
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarterfinals, along with the two best third-placed teams. The four semi-finalists will also secure a spot at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Chile 2025, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
Defending champions Senegal will kick-start the tournament against Central African Republic at the Suez Stadium on May 2, 2025, at 6 pm local time (1500 GMT).
The Black Satellites will be looking to follow suit with a strong performance against the DRC.
The Black Satellites qualified for the tournament after finishing as runners-up to Nigeria in the WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship. With a strong squad and determination, they aim to exceed expectations and bring glory to Ghana.
