Manchester United have struggled this season and currently sit 15th in the Premier League
Diogo Dalot tells Sir Jim Ratcliffe Man United players are ready to sacrifice for success

Diogo Dalot has assured Sir Jim Ratcliffe that Manchester United’s players are fully committed to restoring the club to its former glory, insisting they are prepared to make the necessary sacrifices.
Ratcliffe, United’s outspoken co-owner, recently criticised some members of the squad – currently managed by Ruben Amorim – for being overpaid and underperforming.
His remarks have sparked debate, but Dalot believes the message has resonated strongly within the Old Trafford dressing room.
However, the Portuguese defender maintains that the willingness to fight for the badge has always been a fundamental expectation for any Manchester United player.
“I think the history of this club is about sacrifice and fighting against the world,” said Dalot.
“It’s about sacrificing yourself, and each other, every moment on the pitch and being together with the fans to create the energy we all feel in Old Trafford.
“It is clear that when we are 14th or 15th in the league we are not doing what we should. If we want to put Manchester United back on top we need to do much better.”
Amorim has struggled to secure consistent victories since replacing Erik ten Hag, having been tasked with implementing a new playing philosophy at the club.
However, Dalot believes United are on an upward trajectory, pointing to a six-game run in which their only defeat came via a penalty shootout against Fulham.

He has also urged the INEOS Group, now overseeing football operations at the club, to remain patient, emphasising that setbacks are a natural part of the transition process.
Dalot added: “If you are a top footballer you need to be able to change things quickly. But obviously it does take time because we have been playing in the last few years in a different way.
“You can see this is a period of change, especially since INEOS have come in. The club wants to go in a direction. They want to rebuild Man United and put Man United back on top.”
