Ebony defeat Benab to qualify for Division One League

Ebony FC has emerged as the champion of the 2024/25 Ashanti Regional Division Two Middle League after a thrilling 2-1 win over favorites Benab FC in the final.
The Suame-based club’s victory has secured them a slot in the National Division One League for the 2025/26 season.

The final match, played at the Baba Yara Stadium, was a highly anticipated clash between two strong teams that had been unbeaten throughout the Zonal league.
Benab FC took an early lead through Prince Balladom’s strike. However, Ebony FC mounted pressure in the second half and was awarded two penalties, which they converted to overturn the scoreline.

Ebony FC had a strong run in the tournament, finishing as winners of Group A with seven points. They had previously beaten Pro Sports Academy and Mid City before drawing against Sasaamo Panin.
Benab FC, on the other hand, had a perfect record in the tournament, beating Jonnboe, Acceler8z, and Adom FC without conceding a goal. Despite their strong performance, they fell short of securing promotion to the Division One League for the fifth time.
The match was a thrilling encounter that showcased the skills and determination of both teams. In the end, Ebony FC’s resilience and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities paid off, earning them the championship title.
With this win, Ebony FC joins the likes of Galaxy FC, Pac Academy, Future Stars, and Asekem FC who have recently triumphed in the tournament. The team will now look forward to competing in the Access Bank Division One League next season.
