The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee has handed Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, president of Elmina Sharks, a GHS10,000 fine and a suspended three-month ban.
The sanctions follow Dr. Nduom’s conduct during his club’s match against Swedru All Blacks United FC, where he was found guilty of interfering with the game, inciting players against match officials, and making social media comments that encouraged hostility towards referees.
According to reports, Dr. Nduom entered the team’s technical area without authorization and gestured aggressively towards the officials after a decision went against Elmina Sharks.
His post-match comments on social media further fueled tensions, provoking fans and players with his criticism of the officiating.
The GFA Disciplinary Committee has warned Dr. Nduom that any future violations will lead to stricter punishment, including a potential stadium ban.
Elmina Sharks have also been instructed to educate their management and staff on respecting match officials and the integrity of the game.
Dr. Nduom has seven days to appeal the decision.
