England set to host Ghana, Nigeria, and Jamaica in four-nation tournament

The tournament presents a valuable opportunity for the Black Stars technical team to continue their rebuilding process

England will host Ghana, Nigeria, and Jamaica in a four-nation tournament scheduled for June.

Dr. Randy Abbey, Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, previously revealed that the senior national team will participate in this prestigious international event during the next international break.

The tournament presents a valuable opportunity for the technical team to continue their rebuilding process with the squad.

“Fortunately, the technical team and management will have the opportunity to further work on the team because, in June, we don’t have qualifiers, so we will be playing a four-nation friendly in England. And I am sure that it will be an opportunity for the coaches to do some further work on the team,” Randy Abbey told 3Sports.

“We are hoping that some of the players who are injured will also be back and will be able to get an opportunity to play at least two games before the September matches.”

The Black Stars had a successful March international window, securing six points from their 2026 World Cup qualifier matches against Chad and Madagascar. This success propelled them to the top of Group I.

Despite the impressive victories over Chad and Madagascar, Ghana coach Otto Addo has cautioned that the Black Stars are not yet assured of a spot in the global showpiece.

“We are in a good position [to qualify for the 2026 World Cup], but this is also dangerous,” the 49-year-old said.

“Now, I am thinking about how to keep our heads focused [because] the job is really not done.

“Maybe if Comoros wins, it’s just a three-point gap ahead of Comoros, and it’s still a long way to go. We have to stay focused. If anyone thinks we are through, then he’s making a big mistake.”
