Former Juventus boss Thiago Motta linked with AC Milan job

Former Juventus manager Thiago Motta have been linked with a move to AC Milan, as the Italian Serie A giants makes preparations to replace manager Sergio Conceicao.
Reports reveal that Motta has entered the race to save Milan heading into the 2025/26 season after a disappointing campaign.
Milan is said to be looking for a new manager, and Motta has emerged as the top candidate lined up to take over the helm with the Rossoneri.

Milan are reportedly considering parting ways with current manager Conceicao, whose performance has not been pleasing to the Milan chiefs.
According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, former Juventus head coach Motta has been the latest name to be linked with the AC Milan job next season.

Conceicao is scheduled to leave just six months after taking charge of the club due to a series of disappointing results, as the club seeks to find a suitable long-term successor to restore their status.
Motta’s exploits with Bologna in the 2023/24 Serie A season earned him the reputation as one of the finest young managers in the world after steering them to a fifth-place finish – topping it up with a Champions League spot.
However, Motta got an early sack from Juventus after some poor showing in March, after 42 games in charge.

The Italian becomes the latest manager to join the list of candidates being monitored by Milan to replace Conceicao -being out of job since departing from Juventus.
Despite Motta leading the pack for the Milan job in the summer, Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi is reportedly being considered, with the Italian reportedly poised to return.
Two other Italian managers, Antonio Conte and current Bologna manager Vincenzo Italiano, are other names on their radar.
