Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane welcomes first child with wife Aisha Tamba

Sadio Mane, the 32-year-old former Liverpool forward, has welcomed his first child with his wife, 19-year-old Aisha Tamba.

Mane and Tamba tied the knot in an Islamic arranged ceremony in January 2024.

The couple, who had kept their relationship private before their marriage, have now confirmed the birth of their daughter.

Tamba, who was still a student when she met Mane, had reportedly received a promise from the ex-Southampton star to marry her as soon as they began dating.

The announcement of their baby girl’s birth was made public by Mane’s current club, Al-Nassr.

Mane celebrated his goal in Al-Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Kholood on Friday by mimicking a cradling gesture, symbolising his joy over the new addition to his family.

After scoring to double his team’s lead, the Senegalese international beamed with pride.

Cristiano Ronaldo had opened the scoring, while former Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran made it 3-0 just before half-time.

Al-Kholood did manage to grab a consolation goal in the second half after Al-Nassr were reduced to 10 men.

Despite the win, Al-Nassr remained 10 points behind Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Ittihad, with nine games still to play.

The announcement of Mane becoming a father was publicly shared by the club through a video in which he recited a powerful verse from the Quran while walking through the training ground.

Mane recited Al-Kahf Ayat 46: “Wealth and children are the adornment of this worldly life, but the everlasting good deeds are far better with your Lord in reward and in hope.”
