Kurt Okraku can now contest for a third time when his current tenure comes to an end in 2027
GFA extends Presidential term limit to three terms

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has extended the presidential term limit from two to three terms, following a decisive vote at the 31st Ordinary Congress held in Prampram on Tuesday.
Out of 123 delegates who participated, 114 voted in favour, six opposed the change, and three abstained. This amendment alters the 2019 GFA statutes, which previously capped the presidency at two four year terms.

The decision means the current GFA President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who has served since 2019, will be eligible to seek a third term when his current mandate ends in 2027.
The move is aimed at providing continuity in leadership as the GFA continues implementing reforms to professionalise and develop Ghanaian football at all levels.
The Ghana Football Association has also approved the elevation of the Women’s Representative on the Executive Council to the position of 2nd Vice President.
The decision, taken at the 31st Ordinary Congress in Prampram, reflects the GFA’s commitment in line with CAF and FIFA to gender equity and the strategic advancement of women’s football in Ghana.
