Ghana fan sentenced to 100 days in prison for pitch invasion

Mohammed Huzeinu has been sentenced to 100 days in prison by an Accra District Court for invading the pitch during Ghana’s match against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025.
The 21-year-old’s actions disrupted the game, an offense that could have significant financial repercussions for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), as the Association may face fines for such incidents.
Pitch invasions are regarded as a serious breach of security and can severely disrupt the flow of a match.

Elsewhere, the Black Stars delivered a commanding performance on Monday evening, defeating Madagascar 3-0 in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, with Thomas Partey scoring a brace.

The win puts the Black Stars five points clear of second-placed Madagascar.
Ghana’s advantage was further strengthened as Mali, the top seeds in the group, were held to a goalless draw by the Central African Republic.
