GPL Matchday 6 Wrap : Lions lose unbeaten record, Wonders remain winless

Matchday six of the Ghana Premier League produced some exciting results, with Dreams FC and Bechem United both recording their first wins of the campaign, while Heart of Lions suffered their first defeat of the season.
Hearts of Oak, meanwhile, returned to winning ways in Berekum and kept another clean sheet.

At the Akoon Park in Tarkwa, league leaders Medeama SC snatched a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with FC Samartex, maintaining their place at the summit. Kingsley Brayie struck late to cancel out Awuah Dramani’s opener for the visitors.

At the Tuba Astro Turf, Dreams FC eased pressure on head coach Winfred Dormon with a 2-1 victory over Nations FC, their first of the season. Ernest Appiah and Suraj Seidu got the goals for the Still Believe lads.
At the Golden City Park, Hearts of Oak ended their two-game winless run with a commanding 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea. Goals from Hamza Issah and Mawuli Wayo sealed a massive away win for the Phobians.

In Swedru, Swedru All Blacks returned to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph over Basake Holy Stars, courtesy of goals from Benjamin Adjei and Hafiz Alhassan.
At the Hohoe Stadium, Aduana Stars claimed their first away win of the season, beating Hohoe United 2-0 through strikes from Emmanuel Marfo and Mazeck Afriyie.

Bechem United also picked up their first win of the campaign at the Nana Fosu Gyabour Park, defeating Vision FC 2-0 thanks to goals from Yaw Acheampong and Abdul Razak.
In Bibiani, Goldstars returned to form with a 3-1 victory over Heart of Lions, who tasted defeat for the first time this season. Amon Kotey, Sampson Eduku, and Samuel Atta Kumi were all on target for the Miners.
Meanwhile, Eleven Wonders are still chasing their first win after a goalless draw with Karela United at the Swedru Park. The match between Asante Kotoko and Young Apostles was postponed due to Kotoko’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.
