GPL Results: Goldstars go top as Kotoko slip to third

The outstanding matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League produced some interesting results, with teams battling it out for the top spot and survival.
In a crucial match, Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Bechem United 2-0 to surge to the top of the league table.
Gold Stars’ win was fueled by goals from Ronald Frimpong in the 31st minute and Alex Esso in the 69th minute at the Nana Gyeabour Park.

The victory marked a significant boost for Gold Stars, who have now opened a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with seven matches to end the season.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko stumbled in the title race, dropping three crucial points after losing 3-0 at Accra Lions on Wednesday. Goals from Jacob Awoutey Gildas, Yao Sokpoli, and David Olubi Akintunde completed the shocking rout at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors have now slipped to third in the table after a collapsed performance in the capital.
Nations FC 1-0 Dreams FC: Winger Faisal Charwatey scored the only goal of the match in the 70th minute to deliver the side’s 14th Premier League win of the season. Nations, second in the table, trail leaders Gold Stars FC by just two points with seven matches to end the current campaign.

Samartex 1996 2-0 Karela United: Godwin Sefah and Benedict Afful scored for the Timber giants as they recorded their 10th win of the season. The win has lifted the Aboi-based side to 5th in the table while United drop to the bottom three.

Heart of Lions 1-0 Medeama SC: The Mauve and Yellow were undone by a thumping header from Ebenezer Abban in the second half to separate the two teams at the Kpando Stadium. Medeama dominated all the possession but failed to make it count as they lost yet again on the road and falls off the title race.

Basake Holy Stars 1-0 Vision FC: Aboagye Dacosta’s 36th-minute strike separated the two teams at the Ampain AAK Arena. Holy Stars have moved up to 12th while Vision FC drop to 15th with seven Premier League games to spare.
Aduana Stars 2-0 Hearts of Oak: Sam Adams opened the scoring in the 31st minute before Bamba Latif added the second in the 89th minute. Hearts have dropped to 7th in the table while Aduana find themselves in 11th position.
Young Apostles 2-1 Berekum Chelsea: The visitors shot ahead as early as the 6th minute through Kwesi Sorotu Badori before Hussein Issah pulled parity in the 88th minute. Emmanuel Kyei delivered the much-needed victory with an injury-time winner to help the Apostles record their 8th win of the season.
The Ghana Premier League is heating up, with teams fighting for survival and success. With seven matches remaining, the battle for the top spot is intense, and teams are giving it their all to emerge victorious.
