GPL title race heats up: Kotoko close gap on Bibiani

The 29th week of the Ghana Premier League delivered some thrilling results, shaking up the standings. League leaders Bibiani Goldstars suffered a surprising 2-0 defeat away to Vision FC at Nii Adjei Kraku Park.

In other matches, second-placed Nations FC fell to a 1-0 loss against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park. Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko finally returned to winning ways under Karim Zito, thanks to Kwame Poku’s solitary goal in their 1-0 win over Aduana Stars.

Dreams FC secured a 2-1 victory over Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, while Heart of Lions compounded Legon Cities’ woes with a 1-0 win at the Tuba Astro Turf.
Medeama SC thrashed Young Apostles 3-0 at the TNA Park on Saturday, and Accra Lions boosted their survival chances with a 2-0 win over Bechem United.

The gap between Bibiani and Nations remains two points after both teams suffered defeats. Meanwhile, Kotoko’s win has narrowed the gap with Bibiani to three points, with Heart of Lions also closing in.
Karela United’s loss has seen them drop into the relegation zone, joining Legon Cities and Nsoatreman.
