Jordan Ayew assures President John Mahama of positive outcome against Chad

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has reassured President John Mahama that Ghana will bounce back in their crucial World Cup qualifier against Chad on Friday.
In a surprise visit to the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, President Mahama offered words of encouragement to the players ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
After a disappointing 2024 campaign that saw Ghana fail to secure qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Ayew acknowledged the challenges but expressed confidence in the team’s ability to turn things around and perform well in the qualifiers.

“It’s a big sign that you’re here supporting us. We know we’re in a tough situation, but we’re not afraid,” Ayew said.
“We will turn things around on Friday, so you can relax. We’ll do the job for the nation.”
Ghana will face Chad on Friday at the Accra Sports Stadium before travelling to Morocco for a match against Madagascar on Monday, March 24 as they look to keep their World Cup qualification hopes alive.

The team is gearing up for vital Group I matches against Chad and Madagascar.
Currently sitting third in the group following Madagascar’s victory over the Central African Republic, these upcoming fixtures are crucial for Ghana’s World Cup qualification hopes.
During the training session, players participated in rigorous drills, including shooting exercises, passing routines, and stretching.
Goalkeepers also had a separate session focused on improving their reflexes and shot-stopping abilities.
