Juventus have failed to secure a win in eight games under Tudor

Igor Tudor sacked by Juventus

Juventus have reportedly sacked their manager, Igor Tudor, according to a report in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The reports indicate that the Italian giants, in a meeting this morning, have decided to part ways with the Croatian tactician following a poor run of form under his guidance.

The 47-year-old was only appointed in March, but he has paid the price for a run of three successive defeats, following a series of draws under his belt.

The former Juventus player, under his guidance, has overseen four consecutive goalless matches, with their last goal scored 394 minutes ago, with the team failing to secure a win in eight games.

The Old Ladies of Italian football are languishing in eighth place in Serie A, while they have just two points from three fixtures in the Champions League League Phase.

The report adds that an official announcement from the club will be released soon, but Tudor has already been informed of the new development at the club.

Massimo Brambilla, who is in charge of Juventus’ Next Gen team – the club’s reserve team, has effectively taken charge on an interim basis, and he will oversee Wednesday’s match against Udinese.

In a club statement, it said: “Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the Men’s First Team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci.

“The club also announces that it has temporarily entrusted the Men’s First Team to Massimo Brambilla, who will be on the bench for the Juventus-Udinese match on Wednesday evening.

“The club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.”

Juventus’ struggles began to surface last season, but Tudor navigated through the challenges, leading the team to Champions League qualification—a feat that earned him a contract extension until 2028.

The former Marseille, Hellas Verona and Udinese, who replaced Thiago Motta earlier this also oversaw Juventus’ Club World Cup campaign, but they were disappointingly knocked out at the last-16 stage by Real Madrid.

Following a strong summer transfer window with the arrivals of Lois Openda and Jonathan David, the 2025/26 season kicked off impressively, with the team winning their first three league matches, highlighted by a thrilling 4-3 triumph over Inter Milan.

However, a series of poor results, culminating in three points in the next five Serie A matches, created a bit of a hostile atmosphere, leading to Tudor’s dismissal after recording 10 wins and 6 losses in 24 games under his tenure.

Since their last title in 2019/20, shortly after Maurizio Sarri’s departure, the club has cycled through four permanent managers: Andrea Pirlo, Max Allegri, Motta, and Tudor.

Juventus legend Giorgio Chiellini, who is now the club’s Director of Football Strategy, alongside General Manager Damien Comolli, will be responsible for hiring Tudor’s successor.

Luciano Spalletti, Roberto Mancini and Raffaele Palladino are reported to be in contention for the role.
