Kazakhstani Premier League outfit FK Zhenis Astana have completed the signing of goalkeeper Razak Abalora.

FK Zhenis announced the signing of the Ghanaian goalkeeper on a free transfer after parting ways with Albanian side AF Elbasani.

Razak 28, who was the first-choice goalkeeper for Elbasani during the 2024/25 season, saw his contract terminated due to internal disagreement at the end of the campaign.

He made 33 appearances across all competitions, conceding 30 goals and recording 11 clean sheets – a solid return for a newly-promoted side.

Abalora has chosen to pursue a new challenge in Kazakhstan with Zhenis, who currently hold the 7th position in the top division.

Abalora has previously played for FC Sheriff Tiraspol and FC Petrocub Hincesti in Moldova, where he gained experience in UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.

With four senior caps for Ghana, Abalora’s arrival is expected to bolster Zhenis’ goalkeeping department as they target a strong finish in the Kazakhstani top flight.

Razak hopes to regain his form for a National team call-up before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
