Kotoko provides positive update on Albert Amoah’s injury

Asante Kotoko has confirmed that striker Albert Amoah’s injury is not as serious as initially feared, following their 2-0 victory over Bibiani GoldStars on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The in-form forward was stretchered off in the 70th minute after a strong challenge by Gideon Anaba, raising concerns of a possible ankle sprain.
However, medical assessments have since revealed that the injury is minor.

“The club has received encouraging news from the medical team regarding forward Albert Amoah.
Following thorough examinations of what was initially feared to be an ankle sprain, results confirmed that the injury is less severe than expected. However, the striker is expected to miss two training sessions ahead of our matchday nine away fixture against Nations FC.
Meanwhile, both Walid Fuseini Neymar and Patrick Asiedu, who also limped off in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars, are responding positively to treatment and continue to make steady progress.”
Amoah has been in fine form this season, scoring four goals for the Porcupines two in the CAF Confederation Cup and two in the Ghana Premier League.
He is expected to feature for the club on Saturday against Nations FC, should he pass a late fitness test.
Before his substitution, Amoah had netted Kotoko’s second goal of the game with a brilliant strike, helping the Porcupine Warriors secure their second league win of the campaign and extend their unbeaten run to three matches.
Peter Amidu Acquah opened the scoring in the first half before Amoah sealed the result shortly after the break.
Head coach Karim Zito will be encouraged by his side’s performance and depth as Kotoko continue their strong start to the season.
