Kotoko’s Albert Amoah unfazed by Black Stars snub

Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah remains calm and optimistic despite missing out on a call-up to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
Amoah, who has been in fine form for the Porcupine Warriors this season, believes consistent performances at club level will eventually earn him a place in the national team.

The Kotoko striker was tipped to receive a late invitation following the injury to Inaki Williams, but Brandon Thomas-Asante was handed the nod instead.
Speaking after Kotoko’s draw with Heart of Lions, Amoah said:

“I feel okay. I congratulate everyone who got called. They have the support of all of us. I know my time will come.”
Since joining Kotoko from Great Olympics, Amoah has been a key figure in the team’s attack. He scored 12 goals in 25 games last season, helping the Porcupines win both the FA Cup and the Champions of Champions trophy.
This season, the 24-year-old has already netted three goals in all competitions and remains hopeful of earning a future Black Stars call-up as Ghana continues preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
