Real Madrid legend Raul set to replace Leeds Manager Daniel Farke in the summer

Real Madrid legend Raul is reportedly being monitored by Leeds United as the Premier League-bound side seeks to replace current manager Daniel Farke in the summer.

Leeds United have qualified for promotion into English football’s elite competition by the kind courtesy of manager Daniel Farke, who guided his side to edge fellow promoters Burnley on the final day of the Championship.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Raul wants to chart new territories in his managerial career as he is set to leave his role in charge of Real Madrid Castilla, with a convincing offer already on the table from Premier League newcomers Leeds.

Despite making progress with Los Blancos junior side, he has reportedly been overlooked to take over the senior team – most recently being bypassed for fellow club legned Xabi Alonso following Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to part ways at the end of the campain.

Leeds’ approach to Raul has come out of the blue, given Farke’s recent success. However, the move could be viewed as a progressive plan by The Peacocks, should they face difficulties navigating their way through the storms in the Premier League.

However, his coaching experience is largely limited to Castilla and youth-level tournaments such as the UEFA Youth League, which he won in 2020.

Despite Raul’s inexperience in coaching top-flight senior clubs, reports further reveal that more clubs could enter the race in the coming weeks, especially as signs of managerial merry-go-round kicks in.

Further reports indicate that Spanish giants Villareal are already showing serious interest, as well as Schalke in Germany, both of which have historical ties to the former forward.

Raul’s appointment at Leeds would be one of the biggest bombshells in the managerial circles, but would also usher him onto the global podium of elite football management.

It is yet to be realised if The Whites would remove Farke from the hot seat, especially after guiding the team to the English top flight.
