Liverpool are expected to strengthen their squad this summer
Liverpool forward ‘expected to leave’ this summer

Liverpool are expected to make significant changes to their squad this summer, and one of the key alterations will be in the striker position.
Darwin Nunez, who joined Liverpool from Benfica in a high-profile transfer three years ago, has struggled to make a lasting impact at Anfield – and now, his time at the club appears to be nearing its end.
Nunez has largely been a bit-part player since Arne Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp as manager last summer.

Diogo Jota, Luis Díaz, and Cody Gakpo have all been preferred ahead of him in the striker role at various points during the season.
This lack of playing time has led to frustration for the Uruguayan international, who is increasingly open to the idea of leaving Liverpool.
Throughout the season, Nunez has been linked with several clubs, including Newcastle, who currently have Liverpool target Alexander Isak in their ranks.

However, the prospects of either deal materialising have seemed less likely in recent weeks.
Nonetheless, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nunez is still expected to depart Liverpool during the summer transfer window.

“The plan is clear since February and it hasn’t changed: Darwin Nunez, expected to leave Liverpool in the summer,” Romano said.
“After offer turned down by the club in January from Al Nassr, all options will be considered in the upcoming months.
“Darwin, also open to new chapter.”
Seven goals and five assists in 42 club appearances this season is not the return Liverpool expect from their number nine.
It comes as no surprise, then, that they are reportedly keen to part ways with Darwin Nunez in the summer.
At 25 years old, Nunez is likely to attract plenty of suitors, which would allow the Premier League leaders to secure a substantial fee. This money could then be reinvested in finding a suitable replacement.
