Liverpool have reportedly accelerated their pursuit of Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo, with a January transfer move being mooted early for the Ghanaian forward.

The Premier League champions are looking to improve their attacking personnel with the 25-year-old, who has recorded six goals in the league in just eight games for Bournemouth in the 2025/26 season.

The Reds are reportedly looking for a long-term replacement for their talisman, Mohammed Salah, and have identified the Ghanaian international as the perfect man for the right side of Arne Slot’s front trio.

Semenyo is regarded as a clever solution, given his quality and experience in the Premier League, and he is capable of competing at the highest level and playing for the biggest clubs in the country.

Liverpool have yet to replace Luiz Diaz, who joined Bayern Munich in the summer. With Salah nearing the twilight of his career, the club is in the hunt for a high-quality replacement, much like the Egyptian legend.

Semenyo, who can play on both wings, is seen as an ideal candidate with the qualities of a ball carrier and one who can beat defenders in one-on-one situations—a quality that is in dire need at Anfield at the moment.

Cody Gakpo has done well on the left flank, but has not been able to live up to the expectations required as a Diaz replacement.

The Ghanaian attacker would represent an improvement over the Netherlands international, and Salah has not been performing at the expected level this season either.

Liverpool are increasingly worried about his form and are seeking to enhance their attacking unit with more flair and unpredictability.

The Bournemouth attacker has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, and reportedly has a release clause in his new contract with the Cherries. And it will be interesting to see if Liverpool can trigger it in January.

The chance to join the reigning champions promises to be exciting for the player and would mark a significant leap forward in his career.
