Luis Diaz completes Bayern Munich medical ahead of move from Liverpool

Bayern Munich are close to completing a deal to sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool, with the player completing his medical, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Bundesliga champions will pay €75million (£65.6m) for the services of the 28-year-old, who travelled to Tokyo with Arne Slot’s squad on their pre-season tour.
Diaz was given permission to travel and complete his move to Bayern by the Reds.

Romano posted on X: “Bayern and Liverpool have now counter-signed all formal documents for Luis Diaz deal, all sealed.
“Luis completed his medical at Bayern today and signs a contract until June 2029.”
The Reds were not willing to part ways with Diaz, who was also attracting interest from Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr this summer. Liverpool executives viewed Diaz as pivotal for the coming seasons.
Liverpool already rejected Barcelona’s attempt to sign Diaz this summer.
Diaz played an instrumental role for Arne Slot’s side as they secured a record-equalling 20th league title.

The Colombia international racked up 50 appearances, scored 17 goals, and provided eight assists last season, featuring in an unfamiliar No.9 position.
Luis Diaz, who joined Liverpool from Porto in 2022, has just two years left on his contract.
Speaking while away with Colombia on international duty last month, Diaz said: “I’m very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they’ve made me feel really welcome.
“Right now we’re in contact with them because we’re speaking with [other] clubs. It’s normal, the market is open, and we’re trying to sort out what’s best for us.
“I am just waiting to see what happens. If Liverpool doesn’t make a good offer, I still have two years left with them, I would be happy and content to stay there.
“And that’s it, everything depends on them obviously, it’s up to me to decide what’s best for us and the future.”
