Bruno Fernandez equals Luke Shaw’s appearance record, even though the defender has played close to six years more
Man United captain Bruno Fernandes equals Luke Shaw’s appearance record

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has equalled Luke Shaw’s appearance for the club in the Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
This comes as a shock, though the left-back has played nearly six-year ahead of the Red Devils captain.
The United midfielder played his 278th game on the night, putting him level with left-back Shaw despite the latter moving to Old Trafford in 2014, six years before Fernandes signed for the club.

Shaw has seen his United career overshadowed by injuries, and has been side-lined for the majority of this season.
The 29-year-old missed the first three months of the campaign with injuries and managed only two Premier League and one Europa League games before he was ruled out again.

He has returned to training and could be back in Ruben Amorim’s squad before the season ends – hopefully.
Fernandes has been the first name on every match-day line-up since he joined from Sporting in 2020.
Fernandez has been featured in 184 of the 187 league games in which he has always given his all.
The United midfielder has been recently linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, but Amorim dismissed talk of him being sold.
“He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him,” he said.
United are unbeaten in their last four matches heading into the clash against Forest. A few days after that, they take on city-rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.
