Man United captain Bruno Fernandes rejects summer move to Al Hilal

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has turned down a summer move to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Fernandes wants to continue playing in Europe at this stage of his career. Several clubs are still interested in signing the 30-year-old despite United’s reluctance to sell him.
The Portugal international has two years left on his remaining contract, with the option of a further year.

Fernandes’s agent was reportedly in Riyadh to hold talks with Al Hilal. Al Hilal’s opening match in the Club World Cup is against Real Madrid in Miami on June 18.

The club aim to strengthen their squad as the transfer window is opened for 10 days.
Al-Hilal’s final offer was said to be around £700,000 per week, with the total package – including accommodation, flights, signing bonus, and performance-related incentives – amounting to nearly £65million per year.
The Red Devils recently missed out on silverware in the 2024/25 season, allowing Tottenham to end their 17-year trophy drought by defeating them in the Europa League final.
This disappointment has prompted manager Ruben Amorim to consider squad changes ahead of the transfer window.
Meanwhile, Man United have secured their first signing of the summer following the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Following the Europa League final defeat, Fernandes admitted uncertainty over his future at Old Trafford.
