Alejandro Garnacho could leave Manchester United at the end of the season.
Man United manager Ruben Amorim asks Alejandro Garnacho to find new club

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has informed Argentine forward Alejandro Garnacho about his future at the club following a disappointing season and told him to search for a new club.
Amorim, after Wednesday’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, cast doubts over his future at Old Trafford, offering himself to be sacked without compensation if the club hierarchy felt he was not the right man for the job.
According to journalist David Ornstein, Amorim has confirmed his stay with the Red Devils next season, while in the process, advising Garnacho to prepare for life outside the club.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Ruben Amorim informs Manchester United squad he will be in charge next season + tells Alejandro Garnacho to find new club. Happened during meeting between Portuguese head coach & #MUFC players at Carrington training base today @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/7GqJU4X6Ia

Ornstein adds that the decision was arrived at during a meeting between the Portuguese head coach and United players at Carrington training base on Saturday.
The Portuguese manager has constantly insisted he will not quit despite United experiencing their worst finish of the Premier League era under his tenure.
Sources closer to the situation have indicated Amorim addressed players at the club’s Carrington training ground on Saturday to inform them of his plans and, in front of the group, of those for Garnacho

However, United have refused to comment on the situation, treating it as a dressing room matter – which they deem as private.
Garnacho cast a frustrated figure, following it up with comments directed towards the manager after only being introduced as a 71st-minute substitute in Bilbao, adding that he would “see what happens” after a summer break.
Garnarcho has seen limited playing time since December, before a convincing cameo restored trust from Amorim.

According to an earlier report by The Athletic, in January, he was one of the homegrown players alongside fellow academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo, who were deemed to stay with the club beyond the season as part of their plan to comply with football’s financial rules.
Garnacho joined United’s academy from Atletico Madrid in October 2020 and has gone on to make 144 appearances for the club, grabbing 26 goals, while providing 22 assists.
In the 2024/25 season, the 22-year-old has 58 appearances in all competitions, except being excluded in one of United’s 37 Premier League games.
When Amorim was asked in his final pre-match press conference of the season on Saturday whether he has sought to clarify Fernandes and Garnacho’s futures since Wednesday night, he said:

“I will speak with my players but my focus is the last game. I don’t know what is going to happen.
“We have a plan — we were prepared for both situations, with or without Champions League. We have an idea what type of squad we want.
“Now we have to focus on the game, we now have the last game and we have time to address those situations.”
United will play their last fixture of the Premier League season against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday, before embarking on a post-season tour of Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
