Manchester City prepared to loan out Jack Grealish

Jack Grealish is likely to leave Manchester City on loan this summer if there are no willing suitors regarding a permanent transfer, according to The Guardian.

The British daily newspaper claims that “Manchester City are yet to receive a formal offer for Jack Grealish, with the club potentially demanding about £50m for the forward who cost a then British record £100m in August 2021.”
Grealish was left out of Pep Guardiola’s side that arrived in Boca Raton, Florida, on Thursday to prepare for Wednesday’s Club World Cup game against Wydad.

The England international has two years remaining on his contract.
The 29-year-old struggled throughout last season and found it difficult to convince manager Guardiola that he deserves regular playing time.
Grealish started just seven league games last term, with only one appearance as a starter in 2025.
Across all competitions, he contributed three goals and five assists in 32 appearances as Man City finished 3rd in the Premier League.
The Englishman was an unused substitute during Man City’s 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final and has been linked with a summer transfer.

Guardiola’s position on the £100million signing was made particularly clear when he chose to bring on 19-year-old Claudio Echeverri instead of Grealish during the Wembley fixture.
“We didn’t talk, I didn’t talk with him,” the City boss explained afterwards.
“I’m saying these things, and people don’t believe me, but it belongs to the agents and the club and Txiki, in this case, and Hugo as well. Both will decide.
“What is going to happen will happen, but we are going to start to play again, but of course he has to come back to play minutes to start to play again.”
