Manchester United interested in signing Wolves star Matheus Cunha

Manchester United are eyeing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, according to talkSPORT.
Cunha, who has a release clause set at £62.5m, will see this clause activate in the summer.
While Arsenal have also shown interest in the Brazilian, the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams are ahead of him on their list for both the number nine and left-wing positions.
Nottingham Forest remain keen on Cunha, but it is believed that the player prefers a move to a big-six club, even if Forest qualify for the Champions League.

Man United are currently in the market for a number 10 to fit into Ruben Amorim’s structured 3-4-2-1 system.
Cunha’s agent is expected to travel to England soon for face-to-face talks with potential suitors, having already made initial contact with Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has missed Wolves’ last four matches due to a suspension following his red card against Bournemouth. Cunha was sent off during the FA Cup fifth-round tie after an altercation with Milos Kerkez.

His initial three-match ban was extended to four, which was served after Wolves’ win over Ipswich on Saturday.
Despite his absence, Wolves have gone on a four-match unbeaten streak, including three consecutive victories.
These results have helped Vitor Pereira’s side move 12 points clear of the relegation zone, with seven matches remaining.

Matheus Cunha will be available to return to action in Wolves’ upcoming match at home to Tottenham on Sunday. He remains the club’s top scorer this season, having netted 15 goals across all competitions.
Cunha signed permanently from Atletico Madrid in 2023, following a successful loan spell. In February, he extended his stay with a new four-year deal that runs through to the summer of 2029.
