United have lost 17 games – marking their worst league performance since the 1973/74 season
Manchester United make final Ruben Amorim sack decision

Manchester United are determined to retain Ruben Amorim as their head coach next season, even if they suffer a defeat in the Europa League final against Tottenham, according to the Guardian.
Despite enduring a dismal league campaign, the club’s hierarchy believes the Portuguese coach deserves the opportunity to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window.
Currently sitting 16th in the Premier League, United have lost 17 games – marking their worst league performance since the 1973/74 season.

Ruben Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in November, has been unable to reverse the club’s fortunes domestically.
United were also eliminated from both the FA Cup by Fulham and the League Cup by Tottenham.
The Europa League has provided a glimmer of hope in an otherwise difficult season.
A win over Spurs in the final, set for May 21 in Bilbao, will secure United’s qualification for next season’s Champions League.

However, after United’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham at home on Sunday, Amorim appeared disheartened and suggested he could walk away if results do not improve.
“I’m talking about myself, I’m talking about the culture in the club and the culture in the team,” he said.
“We need to be really strong in the summer and be brave. We will not have a next season like this if we start like this. If the feeling is still here we should give space [his position] to different persons.”
He added: “It’s mentally. We are not scared of losing a game as Manchester United. We don’t have that fear any more and that is the most dangerous thing that a big club can have.”
